How do I know if my microphone is working?
If the input level increases when you speak, your browser is receiving audio from the selected microphone. If the meter stays at zero, check your microphone connection, operating-system input settings and browser permissions.
Why does the microphone need permission?
Web browsers protect microphone access for privacy and security. A website cannot normally access your microphone without asking you for permission first.
Is my microphone recording uploaded?
No. DeviceTest analyzes the microphone signal locally in your browser. This test does not send your microphone audio to a DeviceTest server.
